Gettysburg Tower Sought to Be Blocked by State Suit
Gov Milton Shapp announced Pennsylvania would file suit to halt an observation tower at Gettysburg battlefield. The move seeks a court injunction against the 307 foot tower planned by Thomas R Ottenstein after the National Park Service initially opposed it. Tourists would pay to ascend the structure, which faced parking and traffic concerns.
