Frederick center of community progress says McKinsey
Folger McKinsey former Frederick News editor told the Kowantens at a Hotel Frederick luncheon that Frederick held a tender spot in his heart. He recalled rivalries with Hagerstown and Cumberland, and praised Joseph D Baker as a key helper in city improvements. He championed paving streets, removing iron railings, and installing a municipally owned electric plant, which Frederick achieved ahead of many cities. The talk, introduced by Francis Perrott, drew guests from Frederick and Baltimore.
