Organize Wheat Growers by Aug in Frederick County
Frank W. Mish urged Frederick County farmers to form a cooperative to buy and sell wheat at a mass meeting held at the courthouse. The Washington County Cooperative Buying Association has raised wheat prices by about 10 cents per bushel and aims for at least 1 per bushel, with plans to mobilize nationwide efficiency and farmer control over prices. The Frederick County Farm Bureau organized a new cooperative board, adopting a constitution and seeking offers and a manager to start operations by August 7.
