Three Year Old Clue Ties Slain Couple to Murder
The bodies of Mr and Mrs Henry M Shearer of Attlea New York were found in Lycoming Creek near Bodines 18 miles north of Williamsport with throats slashed. A three year old child cried Mamma and pointed toward the creek leading to the identification as the victims while no weapon or blood stains were found. Shearer worked as a railroad switchman for the Erie.

Buffalo July 20 policemen armed with riot guns under orders to shoot to kill if rioting developed rode the 71 street cars from the car barns after Mayor Schwab warned strikers that further rioting would have serious consequences. Two grenades were exploded last night on the roof of the Cold Spring car barn injuring none of 750 strike breakers living there. State troopers were ordered in for strike duty from various points.
