A freight train continued to burn and leak in Baltimore as CSX Transportation faced damage to cars and infrastructure. Fire officials described smoke and a hazardous scene with five of sixty cars affected. Hospitalized workers were reported and officials cautioned about ongoing dangers and investigation.
Frederick County Court Judge Julie Stevenson gave Gene Edward Huff Sr. 100 years for sexually abusing three young girls entrusted to his care. Huff faced 141 counts including rape and sodomy with victims aged two to nine, with consecutive sentences totaling life in prison.

Justin Warfield, a Frederick County high school teacher on probation for a fatal Garrett County crash, was jailed after drinking beer at a relative’s birthday party. He resigned from Gov. Thomas Johnson High School and faced a court-ordered delay before starting his sentence.

He aims to place the item in mom and pop shops and notes the site opened to the public though orders aren’t yet available.
The Junior Fire Co seeks court permission to demolish the unsafe structure at 527 N. Market St Frederick. Attorney William L. Haugh Jr. says continuing to maintain the site would be an economic hardship and divert assets needed for fire protection. He estimates about 150000 pounds to make it safe with further funds to render usable and notes potential injury risk if a portion collapsed.
Frederick planning commission member Alan Imhoff declares candidacy for mayor at a Westbrook home event attended by about 25 supporters. A 54-year-old Democrat, he networks on experience as a corporate manager and educator, stressing growth balance and high quality basic services while noting his cancer treatment will finish soon.
