Soldiers Escape in Germany and Prague Defection Reported
Three East German soldiers in uniform fled toward the West near Harpers Ferry after forcing a comrade to accompany them on a wood cutting assignment. In Prague, three West German soldiers were granted political asylum according to CTK.
