Montevue Home Gains Furnishings Through Donor Effort
A project to refurnish 22 rooms at Montevue Home has donated furnishings from 20+ families and groups in Frederick County. The effort reduces operating costs by about 10,000 and expands care by allowing nurses and doctors to work within the home. The replacement of furniture aims to turn the site into a true home, with plaques honoring each donor in every refurnished room.

Get Wise Make Your Dollars Do Those Fund Raising Projects
Ruth Millett argues clubwomen overburden themselves with fundraising moves that require hours of work travel and babysitting while men provide cash. She contends that women’s fatigue from endless teas bazaars and calling for donations mirrors a time when money was scarce and men were the primary financiers. Millett questions why women persist in exhausting campaigns instead of simple cash contributions.
