GOP Would Keep County Hospital Open
The Republican State Central Committee at its organizational meeting endorsed keeping Emergency Hospital open to the public and urged county commissioners to pursue that plan. They also recommended designated rural registration hours to ease county residents’ access for the November general election. Emmett K. Bowlus was renamed chairman, with John C. Derr vice chairman and Mrs. Hilda B. Croghan secretary. Mayor John A. Derr attended. state board members will meet at Lord Baltimore Hotel ahead of the state convention.
