Relatives of Anthony Esworthy say the 40 year old World War II veteran, now hospitalized near Baltimore, has a fighting chance though he remains seriously ill. He was found at Reel's Mill with a high fever after returning from Baltimore to visit his teenage daughters and was moved to a VA facility after initial care at a Baltimore hospital. Health authorities pursue a confirmed diagnosis as doctors treat suspected tick fever and monitor a potentially past critical period.
