Monrovia cyclist dies in Florida crash
A 25 year old Monrovia man Jeremy Francis Steiner died in a Florida highway crash when his 1991 Geo failed to stop for a tractor trailer on Fla 472 in DeLand. He had moved to Daytona Beach to pursue motorcycle racing and was named a rising star by the Daytona Beach News Journal. The truck was pulling onto the highway after delivering from TG Lee Foods. Steiner was not wearing a seat belt and the crash occurred at about 60 mph, totaling his car and snapping the trailer’s safety bumper. He was raised in Monrovia and attended local St Johns schools before moving to the Eastern Shore in 1996 to work at the Inn at Perry Cab.
