County issues 10 million in bonds for water system
Frederick County borrowed ten million dollars yesterday to fund the New Design water system expansion linking to Ballenger Creek. Chase Manhattan bid the low interest rate of 7.35037 percent, after an error in recording bids shifted the advantage from Merrill Lynch. The plan adds treatment capacity to six million gallons per day and connects systems to improve supply for Eastalco plant and future Ballenger Creek growth, with Oak Creek sources and Lake Singanore currently supporting the network.

Frederick Youth Severely Wounded In Russian Roulette Incident
Frank Raymond Hoy Jr., 15, of 135 Pennsylvania Ave in Frederick, was shot in the neck while a 17-year-old companion and an older youth discussed Russian roulette at Sapper Court. Police say the older teen pulled the trigger after Hoy reportedly picked up the pistol. Hoy was being transferred to Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services in Baltimore.
