Sewerage Study Planned For County Area
Frederick County moves ahead with a preliminary sewerage survey covering about 35 square miles in the Tuscarora Carroll and Ballenger Creek area. The Benjamin E Beavin Company of Baltimore will start the survey the week of July 27 and finish by late October. The study will map sewerage needs, plant and pumping locations, and cost estimates with potential federal and state grants.

Explosions Hit Allegany Ballistics Laboratory
Two explosions shook the Allegany Ballistic Laboratory near the Potomac River in West Virginia early today. No injuries were reported. Manager Larry Johnston said the blasts occurred in the pilot plant during experimental work at the 1600 acre complex run for the Navy by Hercules Powder Co.
Investigation Goes On In Baby Found In Yellow Springs Box
No charges will be filed against the mother at this time in the July 1 Yellow Springs infant death found in a cardboard box. State officials met to review the autopsy which indicated natural causes and estimated death two days after birth. Grand jury proceedings are planned for September as the investigation continues.

Dr Samuel H Sheppard widely known as Doctor Sam is expected to leave Ohio Penitentiary today after a federal court order. U S District Judge Carl A Weinman ruled he was denied constitutional rights in his 1954 Cleveland trial for the bludgeon death of Marilyn Sheppard. The Frederick Post Office will return to its old daily schedule after May 4 as Postmaster General Gronouski allows local adjustments for better community service without extra staffing. Effective Friday the stamp and parcel post windows operate 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., COD and registry 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., money order 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the combination window Saturday 7:30 a.m. to noon.

Stanley Sagner Dead At 65 In Puerto Rico
Stanley L. Sagner, president of Sagner Inc., a national men’s clothing firm that pioneered synthetics in summer suits, died suddenly at 5:30 a.m. in the American Hotel in San Juan Puerto Rico. Family notified early this morning.
