City bonds signed for 2 million issue by Frederick officials
Three Frederick city officials traveled to New York City to sign the citys 2 million bond issue with Halsey Stuart Co as the low bidder. The bonds will be processed Thursday at 9 a m and the group aims to return for the regular board meeting. Bids opened June 18 yielded an average rate of 3.64 percent. Funds will finance a water tank on the northern city, Monocacy filtration plant planning, and storm sewer upgrades among others.

Sailor and Woman in Car Murdered Near Waterloo Barracks
A 22 year old Navy sailor J Lee Garman of Gorin Missouri was shot twice in his parked car near the Maryland State Police barracks at Waterloo. The woman's husband William Henry Barnes 41 of St Dennis Maryland was charged with the slaying after a brief confrontation at the barracks. Rose Marie Barnes 22 was with Garman and said the driver of a panel truck fired then fled. Garman attached to Fort Meade was pronounced dead at 7 28 am. Next of kin listed as Donald L Garmon of Madison Iowa and Marian Garmon of Gorin Missouri.
