Eddie Clair Freed After Bootlegging Case

Eddie Clair, central to Frederick county bootlegging probes, is at liberty after finishing 100 days with six days of freedom credit in the county jail for selling whiskey. He previously faced 80 days on two counts and 20 days on a second set, paid $400 fine or 80 days. He left jail then admitted selling Otis Whitmore a pint near Buckeystown. The local prohibition law links penalties to quantities sold, with a pint carrying 20 days and $100, while a barrel lacks explicit provision.
