Heat takes toll at house fire on Elmer Derr Road
Firefighters battled a house blaze at 5925 Elmer Derr Road Tuesday afternoon. Three firefighters were hospitalized briefly for chest tightness and heat cramps before being released. The home, reportedly built about 40 years ago by Stan Nagle, was destroyed. Damages were estimated at 125000 by the state fire marshal. Nagle said embers from burning trash near a pool sparked the fire.
