Beallsville Opposes Historic Designation Clash on Local Property
Beallsville faces a conflict as Montgomery County designated the Beallsville crossroads as historic despite objections from five of seven landowners led by H D Darty. Darty warned designation would devalue property and impose upkeep costs on an aging owner. He notes the store, once run with his family, sits near busy Md 28 and Md 109, with increased wear from trucks and a torn porch.
