Largest carp caught at Frederick County encampment
The Frederick County Fish and Game Detective Association reports an 18 pound carp caught Monday night by Harry B. Cramer of this city, president of the sportsmen's group, off Camp Kanawha pier near Pont of Rocks. Campers note bass have been scarce since the encampment began last Saturday. The Potomac runs clear, with more catfish than bass caught. A Sunday feature was a birthday party for Joseph Holdcroft, encampment committee chairman. The encampment ends Sunday noon. A prehistoric bird from Wyoming over 50 million years ago was larger than an ostrich.
