Pious Swithin Legend and a 40 Day Rain Fallacy
A fragment discusses Bishop Swithin of Winchester and the legend that his death day predicts 40 days of rain. It notes his burial, later transfer to a tomb in Winchester Cathedral, and a counterclaim by historians that no storm followed the July 15 event.
