Thorning's Miranda biography receives reprint praise in 1978 Frederick
The Rev. Dr. Joseph F. Thorning, octogenarian scholar and pastor emeritus of St. Joseph's on Carrollton Manor, celebrates the University of Florida Press decision to reprint MIRANDA: World Citizen. The work, praised by the New York Times and Commonweal, portrays Francisco de Miranda as a world citizen linked with leaders from Russia to the United States, and Thorning’s career is marked by ecumenism and interracial justice advocacy.
