National government to condemn 22 acres near Frederick Airport
The United States government declared a taking to acquire 22 acres at a Frederick area corner for a navigational aid facility. The land owned by Daniel J Thomas and others, near Emmons C Sanner, is leased for 20 years with easements restricting structures and fences. The project includes a 30 foot right of way and 10 foot service corridor and involves underground and overhead cables. Funds deposited cover first year rental. proceedings led by U.S. Attorney Joseph D. Tydings. Separately the Frederick County Farm Bureau opposed a swimming pool at the new North Frederick Junior Senior High School site, urging prudent education spending. The group, representing over 1000 local families, outlined plans for a Farm Bureau picnic at Claggett Center on August 19.
