Elmer Elroy Wachter of Frederick died at Union Memorial Hospital Baltimore after a long illness at age 49. He owned and managed multiple properties including the New City hotel and later the Frederick Hotel Company. An active baseball supporter and former hotel operator, he and his wife traveled to Europe seeking health benefits. He is survived by his wife Clara, brothers Charles Ralph and Ralph Wachter, and aunt Mrs Newton Zentz. Funeral plans are pending.
