Brutal white‑on‑white assault shocks Reading room
In Reading Pennsylvania on July 13 a white assailant entered Mrs. Thomas Kurtz’s bedroom while her sister‑in‑law downstairs was unaware. He gagged her with a red bordered handkerchief and tied her wrists with a necktie, later fleeing. She remains seriously ill, peritonitis feared, as police search for the attacker. One man was briefly arrested and released on own recognizance.
