Storms Knock Out Utilities Across Frederick County
Severe weekend thunderstorms disrupted power and phone service across Frederick Howard and Carroll counties. Potomac Edison reports about 8 700 homes affected, with 300 to 400 still without power Monday morning. Five hours after the Petersville transformer fire, power was restored to Petersville and Brunswick areas. A separate lightning strike killed a Holstein on Holter Road near Jefferson. Residents reported funnel type clouds and downed trees across White Rock Mountaindale and Wolfsville as storms moved through. Temperature outlook remains warm and breezy with little rain.

Raymond A Walker, 21, of Baltimore, is identified as the suspect in a Thursday night shooting and armed robbery at National Trail Liquors in Maryland. Picnic honors Biehl for five decades at Frederick Bank
Frederick Counts National Bank president Glenn Eiehl will be honored at a park ceremony tonight by board members and families for 50 years of service.
