Zoning Request Is Disapproved
The Frederick County Commissioners denied the rezoning by Aubrey E. and Ethel Shores of seven acres near Point of Rocks from industrial to B-3 business use. The Shores own only one of the seven acres and would buy another. the remaining six acres owner, Robert H. Perry, preferred industrial zoning. Williar and Stull’s rezoning request for 12.8 acres at Lewistown was withheld for further consideration after amendments and disputes over scope. A decision on that request was expected later in the day.

Forehead Cut Requires 25 Stitches
A 23 year old Gaithersburg man received 25 stitches for a forehead cut after a collision on Maryland 26 at Norbeck. Passenger Harvey Reed Jr and driver Howard Corrick Jr survived with non life threatening injuries. Police cited weather as a factor and no charges were filed.
