Motorist Is Freed After Pedestrian Crash Case
A woman crossing East Street at Third at 9 20 p m June 19 testified in Magistrate Court that the driver ran a red light. Matilde L Cannon of 308 East Third Street was treated at Frederick Memorial Hospital for abrasions. evidence included skid marks and a witness who said the light turned green before the collision. The case centered on whether the driver acted with negligence or if a civil matter should be pursued.

Local court finds motorist not guilty in reckless driving case
In Frederick on Friday July 10 1998 a Clark County judge acquitted the defendant of reckless driving after Lt Swomley found no speeding evidence. In a separate trial Glenn William Kauffman 48 Route 3 Frederick received a $100 fine and 30 days in jail after pleading guilty to intoxication and being found under a tractor trailer at 104 Monroe Street. Officer Norman Trump testified to the scene describing the danger.
