Blood Drive Urged as Gamma Globulin Shortage Grows
Health Officer Dr Forbes J Burgess urged Frederick Countians to donate at the Red Cross Bloodmobile next Tuesday July 14 at Calvary Methodist Church from 10 am to 3 30 pm. He warned the gamma globulin shortage threatens polio and general disease control, noting it takes far more gamma globulin to combat polio than hepatitis and the county could inoculate only a small fraction without increased blood donations.
