Three armed robberies hit city and county in late Friday sprees
Police report three armed robberies in rapid succession on Friday night and early Saturday. A white male in his 20s robbed Sheetz at 3842 Burkittsville Road during half hour after midnight, fleeing in a maroon car. Uni-Mart at 300 S Jefferson St was robbed around 10:20 p.m. with the suspect pretending to buy juice, taking cash and fleeing on foot. Trangle Shell Auto Care at 1410 W Patrick St saw a man enter, buy a Mountain Dew then return to demand money, threatening a weapon but showing none. the suspect fled on foot. Descriptions note a white male, 25-30, 5'6", muscular, blue tank top with Gold's Gym, brown hair. another 5'5" suspect with light tank top, blue shorts, moustache, long brown hair.

Man jailed for possession in Frederick City
A Frederick County man, Clint Jason Mannix, 22, of Fingerboard Road, was charged with possession of crack cocaine and possession with intent to distribute. He was arrested near East Patrick Street by the post office after an anonymous tip. Police say he fled and officers seized 10 bags of crack. Mannix remained jailed on a $10,000 bond at the Adult Detention Center.

Police investigate the shooting death of a 23 year old man at 62 W Deer Park Road in Gaithersburg. A roommate found the body Friday afternoon after a several day tip. Autopsy planned. no suspects. Montgomery County totals reach 14 murders, down from 16 the previous year at this time.

Jeep Driver Loses Control After Rear End Crash
Three people treated and released from Frederick Memorial Hospital after an automobile crash on US 15. Daniel James Reynolds 37 of Fort Lee Virginia drove a 1993 Pontiac Grand Am north and rear ended a 1993 Jeep. The Jeep driven by Robert Michael Rice 37 of Centreville Virginia rolled over in the median. Tracy Margaret Fitzsimons 29, a passenger, was hospitalized. Reynolds was charged with failure to control speed.

Motorcyclist in Maryland Injury After Gravel Crash
Gainsville man Donald Edward Dorsey, 36, is in fair condition after a 1993 Kawasaki left the roadway on Shakespeare Way near Chaucer Court. He said he hit gravel, went airborne about 15 feet, and was flown to Suburban Hospital in Bethesda. Deputies noted fractured ribs but no shoulder surgery.
