Two Injured in Emmitsburg Maryland Car Crash
Two drivers were injured in a $2,500 crash on Maryland 97 five hundred feet west of Emmitsburg at 4 45 p m Friday. Eugene Ausmus 35 and Carol Elizabeth Wenschhof 17 were hospitalized with facial and lip injuries and possible nasal fractures. Trooper Leo Shank cited a head on collision when the Wenschhof Ford crossed the center line. Damages were listed at 2000 for the Ausmus car and 500 for the Wenschhof vehicle. Charges were pending.

Smouse To Assist In Rees Murder Trial
H Russell Smouse of Towson will aid the prosecution in the Melvin Davis Rees Jr. murder case. Smouse is an Assistant U.S. Attorney for Maryland, appointed by Leon Pier son, from six assistants, and this marks his first major trial. He is related to the Staley family of Patrick Street.

Blind man asks to drive as deputies stop weaving car
In Valparaiso Indiana a deputy stopped a car weaving along a road. The driver, blind since birth, said his eyes were plastic. A 20 year old woman from Gary admitted allowing her 25 year old brother to drive to “feel how it feels” with four others in the vehicle.
