Opening Ceremonies For U S Women’s Trials At TJ High
Upward of 300 participants will take part in the opening ceremonies of the Us Women’s Olympic Trials at Governor Thomas Johnson High School stadium. The event is organized by the Sertoma Club of Frederick with the Frederick Jaycees as sponsor. The program features 54 Olympic officials 30 judges and 54 Girl Scouts with state and U S flags plus the All County Band 34 musicians led by Tom Stillman. A local track star will run in the Olympic Torch and Dr Nell Jackson of the U S Olympic committee will give remarks. The Shamrocks marching unit the color guard and additional Sertoma helpers participate. flags will be displayed during the trials. The U S flag will be retired Saturday morning by Sertoma.
