Farm Safety Week Proclamation Issued By The Associated Press
The Agriculture Department reported farm land values rose in all regions in the year ending last March with a national average gain of 4 percent. Southeastern states saw 5 to 11 percent increases while many southern and lake states rose similarly. Values declined in Crehe Ties and Nebraska. Overall land values rose less than 1 percent in the four months ending March 1, slower than any comparable period in two years, amid strong demand for expansion farms and urban rural demand, plus timber use and climate effects driving prices.
