$25,000 Suit Filed After Lewistown Car Crash
A $25,000 damage suit was filed in Cir court after a Monday morning crash near Lewistown injuring four, with two in Frederick Memorial Hospital and two possibly at Camp Detrick. DefENDant George C. Cressman, a Pine Grove, Pa. soldier at Fort Belvoir, and a sailor with him, are named in the suit brought by Mrs. Helen J. Barber and her husband Carroll N. Barber of Manlius, N. Y. The Barbers say their car collided with Cressman’s sedan around 105 a.m. and that Cressman was negligent. Mrs. Barber suffered head and body injuries and facial scars. she will incur hospital and medical costs. The Barbers’ suit follows a prior $500 personal injury and property damage claim by Carroll Barber. A separate $600 auto‑injury suit was settled for that amount. Irvin D. Ramsburg filed another suit against George L. Ramsburg, a Service Cab operator, alleging a bicycle struck by a West Ninth Street taxi on September 2, 1950, causing injuries.
