Frederick County Board of Education to revise absentee rules
The Frederick County Board of Education plans to adopt a revised policy on unexcused student absences at the next meeting. The advisory committee recommends reducing unexcused days from 10 to five per quarter, with a 20 day yearly cap, and adding up to 10 consecutive parental vacation days. Elementary grades would be exempted and local jurisdiction would apply. The board aims to finalize the policy before the new school year.
