Fireworks display draws Frederick crowd to peak Fourth
Baker Park hosted the citys largest Independence Day crowd near 15660 as fireworks lit the sky for 35 minutes. Spectators from surrounding counties picnicked on greensward while a Glade Valley Community Band concert preceded the show. Traffic surged, the evening closed with a Washington silhouette finale, and nearby Braddock Heights saw a banner day for picnics and leisure amid hot weather and a nearly complete business shutdown for the holiday.
