Governor Parris N. Glendening reappointed Jean Smith to a five year term on the Frederick County Board of Education. Smith now serves as board president and said her goal is to continue working hard for the school system to improve outcomes for kids. She was appointed in September 1994 to fill out the term of Samuel Koski, who died, and is eligible for another term.
Theresa Adams, a senior assistant in Carroll County and former chief assistant for Frederick County, announced Thursday her Republican bid for Frederick County states attorney. She criticized the current occupant for prioritizing politics over prosecution and pledged to be a full time prosecutor in the courtroom to keep streets safe.
