Gifted and magnet programs set for August start
Frederick County introduces a magnet school program at North Frederick Elementary drawing about 120 students from across the county and a countywide school based program for highly able students. Selection used teacher nomination and two tests, with 96 to 100 percent qualifying. Parents voiced feedback via an appeal process, while transportation logistics and funding faced final adjustments.
