Fire guts Keymar tavern in Carroll County blaze
A fire at 2 Keymar Center shops gutted a one story building owned by Roland Otto. Union Bridge and Taneytown fire units fought the three hour blaze starting at 3 30 a m. No injuries reported though business records beer stock and furnishings were destroyed. Cause undetermined authorities said the scene caused heavy water and smoke damage.

Body Of Infant Found In Rogue River Grants Pass
A four day search ended when a tow- plane spotted the body of Cheryl Lea Johnston in the Rogue River near Grants Pass Oregon. About 200 people searched for the girl who disappeared Saturday from a picnic area. Her body was recovered three miles downstream. Coroner Virgil Hull said the child appeared to have been in the water about three days. Miss May Russell was appointed to the board of control for Southern Regional Education by Gov McKeidan succeeding Dr H C Byrd whose term expired June 30.

Fire on Lake Champlain Sinks Three Sailors in Marseille Port
