City claims shortchanged in 1976 flood payout
Frederick officials dispute federal flood aid totals after a 1976 disaster. Personnel director Douglas Magaha challenges a state auditor’s deduction of about 29 000 from the city’s final flood funds of 33 171. The 395 426 damage estimate was reduced by 9 percent funding, with 296 659 received in four installments from 1978 to 1980. Magaha seeks the remaining balance amid ongoing audits and distributions through FEMA and state agencies.
