Nap Near Gas Fatal For Youth
An eighth grade student Mark Edwin Wetzel age 13 of Frederick with friends vacationing at the Mouth of the Monocacy apparently died Monday afternoon in a family boat. Another boy Charles R. Droneburg age 14 of Frederick County was in the same boats when they nap led to Wetzel being found with his head on a full six gallon gasoline tank. Droneburg said he tried to wake Wetzel and later called Wetzel’s father Carroll Wetzel who attempted mouth to mouth resuscitation.

Maj Main Denies Inequities In Issuing Parking Tickets
Police Chief Maj Charles V Main denied claims of selective enforcement of the night time parking ban. He cited 235 tickets last night, down from 460 on June 25 after a new get tough policy. The Board of Aldermen ended exemptions to the ban to aid garbage collection and street sweeping. A city spokesman said no parking authority will replace the current parking commission chaired by Ronald Lipps. The mayor’s aide denied plans to name a head for a new authority. Residents complain of unfair enforcement. The parking fine rises from $1 to $3 on Sept 1. The on street ban affects blocks around Second Street on specific nights. The parking commission meets next Tuesday at 7:30 to discuss the ban.

Health Planning Board Fails To Draw Quorum
