Frederick County Board Tackles Animal, Finances and School Matters
Frederick County Commissioners moved to name the conference room in Winchester Hall the Hiram Winchester room and considered an action plan to expand animal protection via the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. They accepted the resignation of dog deputy Ro. B. Fisher, reviewed goat and dog claims, approved a $18,155.35 reimbursement to the State Mental Hygiene Department, and granted honorary citizenship to Dr. Friedrich Braun. The board also addressed audits, air conditioning for Brunswick, law library updates, welfare retirement funding, and planning commission appointments. Fort Detrick traffic changes, a serious child shooting in Frederick, and a train collision in Alexandria were noted in brief.
