State To Get $5 Million For Highways

Baltimore July 1 UP The federal highway bill boosts Marsland’s 12 seat roads program with a major infusion. Robert O Bonnell, chairman of the State Roads Commission, says Maryland should receive about 83.80 million in federal money over the next three years for Virginia construction and improvements under the act. Bonnell notes the state may complete long range projects three to four years ahead of schedule. Gov. McKeldin says the 567 million program will be reappraised and expanded beyond the original goal with a special advisory commission to plan highways for the future.
