City Seeks Full Power Contract To Cut Costs
Frederick City could save about 3000 dollars annually on electric costs if it negotiates a contract with Potomac Edison for all power needs. A conference with utility officials is planned after the ration board gave coupons to keep the municipal light plant operating for ten days. Since January the city has supplied half the street lighting power and bought the rest from Potomac Edison at one cent per kilowatt hour. The utility proposed a mixed rate prior to the election, but officials seek a contract covering all consumption.
