Montgomery Trust Funds Sued Over Court Injunction Action
Circuit Judge H Ralph Miller is to sign a 10 day injunction blocking the Board of Education from withdrawing more than 2 million from retired employes trust funds. Four former Board Employes representing about 1200 retirees filed a class action alleging the 1977 budget diverts 978 539 from the Retired Employes Trust Fund plus 2 million for active employes premiums, violating the trust agreement. Plaintiffs name E G Jewell of Damascus Angela E Darby of Poolesville Ernest W Snodgrass of Rockville and Willard G Schumaker of Bethesda and First National Bank of Maryland as a defendant. The suit seeks to prevent fund diversions used for active benefits.
