Compensation advisory branch to wrap up by year end

Major General Robert C. Davis announced today the adjutant general's office will finalize adjustments to veterans' compensation as the special branch handles remaining claims. About 70 percent of World War I veterans have applied. 2,000,000 cases await adjudication as the permanent staff takes over.

Evolution case denied by Dr Happlesen in Tennessee

Dayton Tennessee July 28 AP Dr George W Happlesen told the Associated Press there is absolutely no foundation for a report that he originated the Repper evolution test case for public jeopardy He said he acted to test the evolution laws not from ulterior motives and that no one in Teston viewed the matter as of interest at the outset.
