New Chur ch Plans Erection at West All Saints

The Welty property on West All Saints street is to be bought by Asbury M E church trustees for a new building to replace repairs on East All Saints Street. Pastor Rev L J Valentine and church officials plan to move forward at once, using funds from the old East All Saints site. The project aims to clear Brewery alley by removing several houses and prevent a saloon at Welty’s corner, a move welcomed by residents and colored neighbors alike. Children's Day was observed at the Church of the Brethren with a long program including prayers, recitations, and songs led by Rev R A Nedrow and others. United Brethren church services included Sunday school at 9:20, morning sermon at 10:45 on Ezekiel 47:9, and evening program on Social Prayer.
