Maryland farmers drive nutrient program with industry help
Industry consultants join the Maryland nutrient management effort alongside farmers to protect the bay. Since 1992 a private certification program expands oversight with exams and ongoing education, boosting plans on thousands of acres and reducing fertilizer costs while improving water quality.
