Robbed on a Bus Misses $194 in Cash and Checks
A 27 year old youth, R Wendell Sterett of Brookville Jefferson County Pa, on a bus between Pittsburgh and Emmitsburg, lost a pocketbook containing $24 cash and $100 in travelers checks. The pocketbook and checks were recovered on arrival at Gettysburg. Police recovered four ten dollar bills from a driver and suspect a missing $10 bill. Sterett, en route to Sute University Durham NC, reported the loss at the Emmitsburg hotel. The case involves Nevin Bus Company staff and state troopers. A separate note reports a double hanging at the Maryland penitentiary for two murders.
