A 19 year old Baltimore youth admitted to being a dope addict and offered to aid authorities in catching a narcotics pusher known as New York Benny at the Clover Theater. He and a companion faced breaking and entering charges at Modern Pharmacy on South Market Street. Thomas pleaded guilty to the pharmacy break in while the other defendant, Reuwer, was not pressed after his testimony. The court postponed sentencing to see if information leads to the pusher's capture and ordered treatment for Thomas. Another case saw 19 year old Andrew LeRoy Smith of Woodbine receive a suspended 18 month sentence for forgery and false pretenses for passing a bogus $69.75 check July 6, 1963.
