Frederick experiences a building boom with 450000 added to the county assessment books this year for permits issued since July 1 1923. Alfred W Gaver says most work is private homes, centered in the city, with about 160000 added last weekend and more planned or under construction.
Governor Ritchie outlines a three year road plan totaling 25 million for 1925 to 1927, including 6 million from direct tax for interest and debt service, 35.4 million for construction, and funding from bonds and federal aid. Motor vehicle receipts largely support maintenance and construction as Baltimore city takes a share. An Automobile Club of Maryland meeting is scheduled at the Francia Scott Key Hotel to discuss legislation.
Mr. Stull has been elected by the County Commissioners as Superintendent of Montevue. He is 55, with 35 years farming, and resides in the New Market district. His wife Ella N. Stull will be matron. They assume duties on April 1. he previously served as assessor in New Market district No. 9.

H W Spurrier president of Poolesville Telephone Company warns the Public Service Commission that rising costs with no revenue increase may force bankruptcy. J Frank Harper of the commission will investigate the company’s affairs before replying.
The first annual Interstate Older Boys Conference brings about 250 delegates from Maryland Delaware and the District of Columbia to Frederick for February 29 to March 2. Speakers from YMCA and church groups will discuss Something More in Boyhood School Fellow Near and Jesus Christ with tours and home hospitality planned.

Frankfort Indiana January 30 Gov War ren T McCray was adjudged bankrupt in a report by federal master in chancery Harry C Sheridan who presided over the hearing on a petition by three Fort Wayne banks. The report was released today. Collateral forfeited C W Gilford of Washington DC arrested Sunday for a traffic violation forfeited collateral of 250 by Officer John Winpigler.

In the line are Kathryn Miller 81 of Catoctin Furnace William Angleberger 63 Sidney Angleberger 44 of Lewistown Arthur Pulman 20 of Lewistown holding eight month old Madelyn Trene Putman. The families all hail from Frederick County and remain in good health.
Deputy Clerk Millard N. Nusz issued a marriage license at 6 pm after a Martinsburg couple arrived by taxi. Alftie W. Edwards aged 21 and Margaret Wyndham aged 18 obtained the license, with Nusz noting prior late night issuances and unusual requests from applicants.
A Hopkins hospital incident in Baltimore reports a fire in a machine room beneath the operating wing forcing three women from the Womens Clinic. Flames confined to one building caused damage to machinery and the operating room, with all patients evacuated safely. The Associated Press reports Tomy Mazzola a 25 year old dental student at Ohio College of Mental Science University of Cincinnati was found murdered on a Norwood road. He was shot in the back and his body slashed and stabbed. A sum of money was found in his pockets. Police seek a young woman said to have been keeping company with him.
