Annapolis AP says the Department of Natural Resources will file emergency legislation to clarify a 30 bushel per day oyster catch limit for divers. District judges in Queen Anne’s and Anne Arundel counties ruled the law unclear, prompting the push to fix the daily limit definition. DNR Secretary Dr. Torrey Brown told a Senate committee most divers adhere to the limits.
Frederick County Parks and Recreation invites nonprofit volunteer groups to apply for one year grants in fiscal 1988 to cover materials for constructing or improving facilities on county land. Recipients must provide labor and equipment. applications due March 18, 1987. up to $25,000 budget.
The Board of Public Works approved a $1 million state grant on Wednesday to help build a new Pride of Baltimore. The funding was welcomed by officials and marks a key investment in the harbor heritage program.
Procrastinators may obtain new auto tags at the Werner Office Building Rockville from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The U S Postal Service announced completion of the Braddock Heights post office in July. Frederick builder David H. Yinger Jr won the bid to construct a 2322 square foot facility beside the current post office on Old Swimming Pool Road and will lease it to the Postal Service for just under $1000 per month. The agency issued site requirements for a Mount Airy post office, posted at the Mount Airy Post Office. Public information officer Bob Novack said the current facility needs more space to meet community growth.
