The NFL adopted a minor rule to run the clock an extra ten seconds after an injury in certain cases during the 1955 season. Commissioner Bert Bell says the change targets faked injuries while not burdening real ones. Also noted is a four man trade involving Detroit Lions and Washington Redskins: LaVerne Torgeson and Jim Hill to Washington for Jim Ricca.
